Let this be (a little) short and blunt:

KIDO YUUYA IS SO GREAT.

As soon as they announced that he will be taking the role of Arakita Yasutomo in the second season of Yowamushi Pedal drama, I got excited (yet a little depressed because Suzuki Hiroki, one of my favorite actors won't come back to the series).

Sure, I already saw him act in Prince of Tennis musicals as Tooyama Kintarou, but that was the only time I saw him on stage, and Kintarou was a very jolly character. So when I found out that he'll play Arakita, I became reaaaaally curious. I think Arakita has a very interesting character and one of the admirable ones in the series, from his facial expressions, brash behavior up to the way he speaks (the drama CDs are totally awesome). Arakita is the complete opposite of Tooyama Kintarou and from then on, I waited and was looking forward to Kido's acting.

To be honest, he was the only one I was waiting for in the second season, and HE DID NOT DISAPPOINT ME.

His expressions are exactly how I see Arakita, and the way he speaks is almost like Yoshino Hiroyuki!

I am glad that he was able to play Kintarou, a happy-go-lucky character and a rough cyclist like Arakita.

Actually, I haven't even finished watching the first episode and I might start again this week, since Kido Yuuya appeared again in episode 6.

I'll also be watching him out on the 4th production stage of K Project as Fushimi Saruhiko, since that character was also played by Suzuki Hiroki in the first run and kinda like... Arakita. LOL.

ORIGINAL POST HERE

Good evening everyone.

As already reported in some media, last September 15 during taping, an accident by [1] falling down from the bike happened to my Yowamushi Pedal co-star, Takigawa Eiji-san.

In today's announcement, the [2] diagnosis and the intentions of the person himself were reported.

[3] I myself also experienced being injured on stage in the past,
I'll understand Eiji-san's pain and difficulties.

In that painful time, more than anything, everyone's support became (my) strength.

As a colleague who works in the same production, as a friend,
I believe that Eiji-san's rehabilitation will help him return to his perfect condition.

[1] Rather, Takigawa Eiji crashed onto something resulting in him, falling badly from his bike.

[2] I think it's literally "disease's name" but I don't think Takigawa Eiji has a disease so I believe that Kido Yuuya's pertaining to the diagnosis.

[3] He must be talking about the stage Tumbling as he was part of the cast but got injured so he was replaced by Kagimoto Akira.
